The striped knit
The indispensable sweater
Autumn is approaching, and of course that means we need to find the sweaters, because you can't do without them. Striped sweaters in particular are indispensable. Most of us have (or should have) a striped sweater in our closet, because it's one of the more permanent parts of fashion, and there's no indication that this will change, because striped sweaters ARE popular. There are many knitting patterns for striped sweaters if you're the DIY type, but any self-respecting clothing store also has striped sweaters. And for good reason.

We have written about knitwear several times, and it is simply because we can't get our hands off it - and neither can the fashion world. Knitwear has been a part of autumn fashion for several years and is extremely popular to wear. There is of course a good reason for this, because knitwear is wonderfully warm for the cooler months, and you clearly feel the warmth and not least the coziness when you put on a good knitwear.
Another reason for the great popularity of knitwear is of course the versatility it offers, in the form of, for example, the many different colors that knitwear is available in, the selection of different thicknesses, models and, not least, the many different patterns, including stripes.
Stripes on knitwear
Stripes had a resurgence around 2015, but they have really been a part of fashion since Adidas introduced the three stripes in 1928, and despite the resurgence, stripes never really went out of fashion. Horizontal and vertical stripes have been in fashion season after season, and it is clear that stripes are one of the most popular fashion patterns; they are classic but not boring, and they have several functions.
Many people may be afraid to wear stripes because of the effects that stripes can have on how our bodies look. We have all been fed the false information that horizontal stripes make our bodies look wider than they are, but this is a myth that we are quick to dispel. In fact, research shows that wearing horizontal stripes makes people appear thinner than wearing vertical stripes, and thin horizontal stripes also have the effect of emphasizing the waist and figure. If stripes are used in multiple directions, this has the effect of creating shape and life in the clothes. If vertical stripes are used, on the other hand, it helps to add an illusion of length, making you appear taller.

The striped knit is a timeless classic, and you can really understand that when you look at what each concept can do on its own - what can't they do together? The warmth and coziness of the knit is combined with the elegance of the stripes, and both add a classic touch that together form a higher unity. There is a certain play, but without it becoming chaotic to look at, all the while it can have a good effect on your figure. It's no mystery that we call the striped knit a huge must-have - it can do it all!
