Winter coats 2024
Heat first and foremost
The sometimes relentless winter is getting closer and closer, and although it's nice to stay indoors and stare out at the snow and cold with a mug of hot cocoa in your hand, sometimes it's necessary to move out in the Danish winter weather, and then it's necessary to have the right winter coat on so you can stay warm. Therefore, functionality and quality are of course paramount, but... it doesn't really matter that you also look modern while staying warm, so we'll now take you through the most basic trends in winter coats for winter 2024/25.
A short, a long coat
This season we will see a lot of variety, everything from elegant wool coats to sporty down coats and relaxed, cool parkas, fluffy, fur coats and also regular short oversized bomber jackets will be on display. This combination of course also means that the coat lengths will vary greatly this season, and although the long coat is a safe and stylish choice, it does not mean that you can't easily go for, for example, a short down jacket, which is also very popular and a safe choice. So there is the possibility of finding a length that you feel comfortable in and that suits your style.
Colorful winter coats
There is good news for those of you who like to throw lots of color into your wardrobe, because although the more neutral colors such as black, white, beige and gray are of course trending for winter, we will also see a lot of colors that stand out more. Blue, green, different types of dark red, well in general we just want to see colors! After some minimalist years in terms of color, we will find the colors again, and this is really good news for those of you who have always had a little dream of a colored winter coat, because we say to you: Now is the time to do it!
Look for the detail on the coat
This year, as I said, there is no single length that determines whether a coat is fashionable or not, and we will see a multitude of different colors that will make themselves noticed, but what really makes the fashion stand out this year is something else entirely, because the secret ingredient is the small details that we see coming back.
A detail that may not be exactly new, but is very strong, is defined waists, whether it is a well-placed cut, belt, tie or elastic is secondary. It creates a beautiful hourglass figure, and it is huge this season.
Additionally, remarkably large pockets seem to be a recurring detail, as do large buttons - both are details that continue from fall into winter fashion.
We also see patterns as a recurring trend, both dyed and sewn into the coat material. These can be more subtle patterns that you barely notice, but we will also see more flashy and colorful patterns.
In addition, high collars and sharp, strong shoulders are also something we will see as a detail that people will notice.
