Why choose a short jacket?

There are of course a lot of considerations when choosing a jacket for this fall and winter, and one of the considerations is whether to go with a long or a short jacket. There are many arguments for both, but we want to take a closer look at what a short jacket can actually do, and which types of short jackets are popular.
The short jacket has a number of advantages, for example it offers much greater freedom of movement than the long jacket does, which will be practical if you are, for example, the fresh type who cycles to and from work or just enjoys a bike ride to relax. In addition, short jackets of various types are ideal both indoors and outdoors all year round, which is because the short jackets are extremely versatile and range from light blazers to warm quilted jackets. This versatility also makes it easy to dress a short jacket up or down with bottoms , shoes and accessories .

How to choose a short jacket?

So we've established that there are several good reasons to choose a short jacket, but what should you choose your short jacket based on?
First and foremost, the purpose of the short jacket is to keep you warm and create a space that you feel comfortable in, and that is the first and most important criterion you should choose your jacket based on - it should keep you warm enough for the season, and you should feel comfortable in the jacket. So you shouldn't choose a fitted jacket if you don't like showing off your curves, and conversely, you shouldn't choose an oversized jacket if you want to show off your curves. It could also be that you don't feel comfortable in a strong, attention-grabbing color, and then you should of course stay away from that. This leads to the next criterion you should take into account when choosing your jacket: a winter jacket is typically used for several years in a row, and fashion doesn't necessarily last for several years, so you should consider whether you want to jump on what is fashionable right now, or whether you want to go for something that suits your personal style. Sometimes the two match, and hooray for that, but otherwise it's also okay to just follow your own personal style.

Which short jackets?

As we started by describing, there is great versatility within types of short jackets, and therefore we must set the limit for which ones we want to talk about somewhere, and here we will choose to look at autumn and winter jackets, as these are the most current seasons.
To start a nice, warm place, the duvet jacket is a fantastic option for a wonderful jacket that keeps you nice and warm when it's cold. In recent years, the duvet jacket has really become one of the more popular jackets, and we understand why, because it really feels like being wrapped in a nice, warm duvet. The duvet jacket also has the advantage that it comes in many versions, and there have gradually been more and more variants that complement your figure, which is seen, for example, in our very popular Skye jacket . In addition to coming in many colors, this model has a strength in that the tie helps to highlight your figure, so you appear super sharp.

The short parka jacket of this type, which goes to the hip, is also a good option for a jacket for autumn or winter, as they are often breathable, but wind and waterproof. They are very versatile in their expression and come in many different variants, but what is common is that they often come with a high neck and hood. For the slightly cooler months, it is a practical and timeless design that you get when you buy a parka jacket.

In general, we see that fur and faux fur are very popular, and it also has its advantages. Not only does it look fantastic, it is excellent in terms of keeping warm. Jackets with faux fur have developed a lot in their expression and now do not only come in one expression, and you can therefore get everything from fluffy to decidedly sporty jackets. In addition, faux fur can fill everything from the whole to just being small details. However, be aware that it can fill a lot of the look, as we see for example with our own Kaia jacket in dark brown and our Sally jacket in dark brown. Here, faux fur directly supports the expression, and it helps to show that these types of jackets sometimes need to be styled simply. Here, for example, you can go with just a pair of jeans or trousers and nice shoes, but without large accessories or many details.

The last short jackets we want to highlight go by two names: bomber jackets and pilot jackets. Pilot jackets come from the fact that the jacket was originally developed as a lined all-season jacket for fighter pilots, who could wear the jacket open in the cooler months and closed in the cooler months. Nowadays, however, we see more seasonal bomber jackets that are both thin and thick in fabric, as well as jackets with and without. Those that are developed for use in autumn and winter are good at keeping wind and cold out, all the while keeping you warm. When styling your bomber jacket, you can benefit from being aware that it gives the same edge as a leather jacket, which can be seen especially in our Emma jacket in dark grey, where the details clearly stand out in the color, so you see the edge in the jacket. This edge in the bomber jacket makes it look great with high jeans or a skirt . The black bomber generally goes well with most things, but be aware that it can look very confusing if strong colors are used with a colored jacket, and that with a colored bomber jacket you should let it carry the look and otherwise use more neutral colors so that the jacket does its thing.
